I understand that the idea of creating an estate plan can be very overwhelming. I understand, because I’ve asked myself these same questions for my own family. For example, what will happen to your children if both parents pass away? Who will take care of them? If you don’t decide who will care for your children, the alternative will be that a court will make those decisions for you. And although courts always strive to do what is best for children, they may choose a guardian for your child that you would not have chosen. What about your house? Who do you want to inherit your house at your death? What about that precious family heirloom that’s been passed down for generations? Who do you want to carry on that legacy? If your wishes aren’t documented in a properly drafted trust or will, then the court will have to decide who inherits your assets. Having a court making these decisions for you is very costly and time consuming. And of course, who do you think pays for this? It comes out of your assets, which means your loved ones will inherit less than if you had a properly executed estate plan. These are tough questions and take a lot of reflection. But these are very important decisions that need to be made in order to protect your family and your assets.
My goal is to make this process as easy as possible for every family that I meet which is why an initial consultation with me is free. The initial meeting allows me to get to know each client so that I can better understand what their concerns are and what options might best address their needs.
If you are ready to take the next step in preparing for your family’s future, give me a call and we’ll set up a time that is convenient for you. During your free initial consultation you will have the opportunity to ask me any questions, and I’ll provide you with the various options that will address your concerns. If after the initial consultation you feel that my firm can offer you the service that you need, then we can discuss the cost for your personalized estate plan.
